Summary of the day

The second day started with a morning practice, offered by our participants. Among the offers were aikido, running in the mountain and impro theatre.

The second day of the training was centered around the third stage of the four fold practice- Hosting others. The framing question for the day was "How to host participation?".

The morning check-in happened outside in the green field in front of the hotel. The participants formed a circle and then each one was asked to step in the middle and express how they feel with body language. The whole group formed a live sculpture both capturing the individual and group state of mind after the first day.  After the exercise everyone was awake and ready for a second day of personal and collective discoveries.

Back inside, Marjeta and her team explained what Appreciative Inquiry is, after which participants were invited to experience it themselves by splitting in groups of two.

After the Harvesting of the A.I a short teaching on the Chaordic Path was done by Anton. This concept resonated a lot with the Balkan reality and the way we do things in the Region.

After a refreshing break, an Open Space took off in the garden, where participants were invited to host conversations around topics, which matter to them. The Open Space then led to a Circle with which we convereged Day 2.

In the evening small groups gathered around storytellers to listen and harvest collective wisdom of Stories of Application from different places.
A.I Harvest

During the Appreciative Inquiry the participants were invited to share a Positive experience when hosting participation between chaos and order. The idea was to look inside ourselves and see what trainsformations were happenning and also to explore what was happening externally as a response to our inner transformation.
We went into couples and told stories about navigating between chaos and order.  Each group was asked to bring back to the Circle the essence of the conversation, while focusing on two concrete conditions that allowed participation in between chaos and order. The Harvest of the A.I happened inside and was done via clustering the similar conditions.
Teaching: The Chaordic Path and The 8 Breaths
Ria did a teaching on process design and the 8 breaths followed by Anton who stepped in and did a teaching on the Chaordic Path and how to navigate between chaos and order. This topic resonated a lot with the Bulgarian reality, as well as the culture in the Balkan Region, as a whole. There was an interesting Q&A session around control and emergence and on limiting the effect of Chamos. By chance (or not) Anton was wearing a t-shirt saying: Istanbul- they call it chaos, we call it home. Quite relevant to the whole Region, no?
Open Space Harvest

The Open Space took place in the garden with the invitation question "What do I want to explore in order to host participation in...?"

Some of the Open Space topics were around hosting participation in:

- Problems solving solutions
- Change in Bulgaria
- Building sustainable communities around cultural institutions like museums, libraries, etc.
- Shared economy
- AoH community of practice in Bulgaria
- AoH in education
- AoH in business
- Finding our talents
- Generations gap
- Accepting diversities
Circle and check out

During the Circle practice we asked "What is the one insight you took from the Open Space?". And here are just some of the insights that the participants shared:

To be more confident in ourselves; to look for positive ways to work with others, to ask for help; to always be curious, sharing of ideas is knowledge, change happens in small communities; the solutions come from talkign to people; to host ourselves; listen more than talk; truest the process; people are beautiful when they are themselves and not their roles or jobs; etc.
Collective Story Harvesting
In the evening we gathered around storytellers who shared their experience and sotires of applcation.. In different groups we listened to inspiring stories about:

- The Strengths of Slovenia gathering by Marjeta;
- Working on re-writing the Constitution in Greece by Maria and Ody;
- The learning experience of two teachers in remote areas in Bulgaria by Maria and Ivelina;
- Working with students by Martin;
- Starting a movement on re-starting education in Romania by Ana

The participants gathered around the storytellers and were looking through different lenses looking for signs of trust, courage, pivotal moments and giving their feedback to the storyteller at the end.

Meta Harvest

The harvesting team gathered in a circle to express what they have captured throughout the second day. The conversation was around the quote: "The essential is invisible for the eye" and the key workd of the second day was the word insight as a meeting point between the mind and the heart, as the silence between the heartbeats which actually forms a rhythm. They discussed the invisible glue that makes from a group of people a community.
